I hope all of you are healthy and well with your family. I pray for the forgiveness of the departed souls of those of us who have died, especially those who have been infected with Covid 19 and died at home and abroad. Condolences to their loved ones.

Dear Habiganj residents,
many of you are aware that Habiganj Association, Dhaka was established in 1972 by some eminent and talented personalities of Habiganj district living in Dhaka. With deep respect, I remember some of the founders of this organization, Mr. A K Azad Chowdhury, Syed Shafiqur Rahman, Dewan Moudud Ahmed and others who laid the foundation of our beloved association. Many thanks and gratitude to them for establishing this organization.

You will be happy to know that the objectives of Habiganj Association, Dhaka is to create and maintain friendship and harmony among the citizens of Habiganj district living in Dhaka, to establish contact with the expatriate citizens of Habiganj and to inquire about the advantages and disadvantages of their families and relatives in the country, to cooperate as much as possible if necessary, to draw the attention of the concerned government authorities to solve the problems of the workers and to continue the efforts as much as possible to solve the problems, to provide financial assistance for the treatment of indigent patients in Habiganj, to provide scholarships for higher education to meritorious students from indigent families.

The Habiganj Association, Dhaka, has provided cash assistance to a significant number of indigent and unemployed families in Habiganj district in 2020 and 2021 during the ongoing Corona disaster after the present executive committee took charge. Also provided financial assistance to some people for treatment. Prior to the last Eid-ul-Fitr, financial assistance has been provided to 149 relatively indigent families in different upazilas of Habiganj district for the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr. Winter clothes have been distributed.
In order to overcome the oxygen crisis in the district hospitals, especially in the Upazila Health Complexes, so far 8 Oxygen Concentrator and 20 Oxygen Cylinders have been provided by the Habiganj Association, Dhaka through the Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon, Habiganj.

You will be happy to know that the present executive committee wants to work with the cooperation of all, for which 9 ( nine) sub-committees have been formed. The committees are working on their scope of work. We are in the final stages of creating a state-of-the-art website in collaboration with the ICT Sub-Committee of Habigonj Association, Dhaka.
Already I am doing all these things with the voluntary donations of the esteemed leaders of the executive committee and with the personal efforts of the esteemed president of this organization, Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Tarafdar and myself. For this, I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to all the leaders who have given voluntary donations and the concerned people.
You are aware that Habiganj Association Dhaka has nothing like that. Although it is almost 49 years old today, we have to do all the preliminary work starting from formulating the constitution of this association. We don’t have an office, we don’t have a place to sit, we don’t have a working environment.
We are looking forward to grants from well-to-do philanthropists to help purchase a flat aimed at establishing the office.
We want to introduce scholarships for the relatively indigent and meritorious students in 9 upazilas of the district to complete their higher education.
Therefore, we are expecting all possible grants from all concerned.
You know, there are many elderly people in different villages of our 9 upazilas, who have to buy medicine every month to survive. They have to consult with doctor. But it is not possible for them to raise money for treatment or for their families to get treatment. We are thinking of providing medical assistance to poor patients at the rate of Tk. 1000 / – per month. I think our honorable citizens of Habiganj district who are earning good income in exile, who are doing good business in the country, or who are working at high salary, should be given Tk.1000 / – per month or Tk.1000 / – per month for some patients. No matter. Those who are suffering from complex diseases in different upazilas of the district need several lakhs of rupees for their treatment. But it is not possible for a patient from a poor family to get treatment at the cost of lakhs of Taka We plan to provide them with medical assistance. We strongly urge all concerned to come forward to implement this plan.

Nothing significant can be done for this organization alone. We hope that we can do a lot with the cooperation of all of you as much as possible.
Thanks to the donations of many of you, educational institutions, religious institutions have been established in different places of Habiganj district, many children have been able to complete their education, have been able to build a life, many patients have been cured by treatment, many have been able to improve their quality of life.
So I would like to request you, let us all together continue to try to stand by the poor and helpless people of 9 upazilas of the district.
I believe, located in different parts of the country, including Dhaka
Habiganj Association, Dhaka will be able to implement all the goals and objectives of Habiganj Association if the people of Habiganj, living abroad, esteemed personalities of all levels of Habiganj district, esteemed people’s representatives of the area, knowledgeable people, social workers, philanthropists, academics, researchers, journalists, lawyers and all professionals extend their hand of cooperation.
We hope that all of you will continue to support Habiganj Association as much as possible.
I hope that the esteemed leaders of the executive committee of the organization will co-operate as much as possible in fulfilling our responsibilities and will continue to play their respective roles in the implementation of the goals and objectives of the organization with the same sincerity and sincerity.

Finally, I wish all the cooperation, good health and longevity of all concerned for the smooth running of this organization and I would like to end my prayers for all.
